Chase the Podium: How WikiRacing Tracks Your Personal Best on Every Pair

Published on 2026-08-24

Win a race and the daily/global leaderboards aren't the only thing keeping score. Every single start-to-end pair anyone has ever raced has its own dedicated leaderboard — and if your best attempt on that exact pair ranks in the top 3, it shows up as a podium finish on your profile.

Every pair has its own leaderboard

Finish any race and the win screen shows how your run stacks up against everyone else who's ever raced that exact start and end article, in your language — ranked by clicks first, then by time. Two players who took the same shortest route are separated by who found it faster; a slightly longer route always ranks behind a shorter one, no matter the time.

Only your best attempt counts

Race the same pair five times and only your single best run — fewest clicks, then fastest time — is the one that gets ranked. Spamming the same easy pair over and over doesn't inflate anything; the leaderboard tracks your personal record on that pair, not your attempt count.

Podiums, tracked automatically on your profile

Both your own profile and any public profile show a running "Records" count — the number of pairs where your personal best currently sits in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place — plus a full list of every podium finish, each one clickable straight through to that pair's leaderboard to see exactly who you're up against.

Why a podium actually means something

Because it's built from your single best attempt on a pair anyone can look up and replay, a podium isn't a fluke or a lucky roll — it's a route you genuinely found faster than almost everyone else who's tried that same pair. Server-side checks on every recorded run (duration has to be realistic for the click count) keep the leaderboard honest, so the names above you got there the same way you would have to.

Go find a pair to podium on

Rare or recently-added pairs — a fresh daily challenge, a pair from a smaller themed pool, a route nobody's tried much yet — are your best shot at cracking the top 3. Check your profile's podium list, pick a pair with room at the top, and go take it.
